Jordanian King in Britain
Jordan-UK, Politics, 11/7/2001
Jordanian King Abdullah II has started a visit to Britain which is his first since he assumed power in February 1999. The visit will last for three days and comes at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth of Britain.
The King had visited Britain for several times and his last visit was just last week. But this visit is made as a state visit and at the highest rank.
The British government welcomed this visit. The British foreign ministry said that this visit will bolster the firm relations linking the two countries.
The Jordanian Monarch started his visit to Britain on Tuesday by visiting Windsor castle, the countryside residence of Queen Elizabeth near London. He was welcomed there by the Queen and members of the British Royal family.
