Nubia Museum receives Aga Khan prize

The Nubia Archaeological Museum at Aswan has won this year's Aga Khan prize in architecture. It was chosen from among 20 archaeological sites in the Arab and Islamic worlds which competed to receive the prize.
The prize will be received by Dr. Gaballah Ali Gaballah, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), on behalf of Minister of Culture Farouq Hosni who doubles as Chairman of (SCA). The ceremony will be held in Aleppo, Syria.
President Hosni Mubarak inaugurated the Nubia Museum at an international ceremony in 1998.
