Morocco's minister on work visit in Libya, Tripoli hosts Moroccan fair

Moroccan industry, trade, energy and mining minister, Mustapha Mansouri, is paying this November 5-6 a work visit to Libya.

Mansouri will explore with Libyan peer, secretary of the popular committee in charge of economy and trade, means to consolidate bilateral cooperation in economy and trade.

The two countries' high joint commission had adopted a series of partnership actions and set at US$ 400 million the target of trade exchanges between the two Maghreban countries.

Meanwhile, Tripoli is hosting a fair of Moroccan industrial products, meant to promote trade exchanges between the two countries.

The fair, that was dedicated Sunday in the presence of Mohamed Mouamar Kadhafi, son of the Libyan leader, and several Libyan officials and businessmen, is displaying the products of more than 60 Moroccan companies operating in the sectors of textile, leather, engines, spare parts, agri-business, hotel and airport equipment, information technology, paper, chemical products, and medical equipment.

A large delegation of Moroccan businessmen is participating in the fair to promote Moroccan industrial products in the Libyan market, to consolidate partnership with their Libyan peers while tapping the Maghreban and COMESA markets.

The fair, held November 4-8, is initiated by the Moroccan association of exporters in cooperation with the Arab Libyan investment company and Morocco's embassy in Tripoli.
