Moussa, Maher: we are going to Brussels with a united Arab position

In statements to the press in Damascus on Sunday, the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa described statements made by the US President George Bush and the British prime minister Tony Blair on the need to establish a Palestinian state as very beautiful and positive, but yet have not been materialized, hoping that these statements will be made into acts.

Moussa added that the departure of Arab foreign ministers concerned to the Euro-Mediterranean partnership meetings on board of one special plane within one collective and united delegation to Brussels may help to having a more practical position from the European and American sides.

For his part, the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher stressed that what is needed from Egypt and the Arab nation is to avail the opportunity so as to give the Arab cause a push forward, noting that there is preparedness in many countries, including the US and Britain to move in a practical way.

He added:" we have listened to officials in the two countries" and they are talking about the need to reach a solution based on the establishment of a Palestinian state. He explained " it is our task to push this attitude forward and to work for that those "countries" to give clear proposals in order to translate their statements into reality.
