An Arab center for water studies to be opened in Damascus

Under the patronage of the secretary general of the Arab league (AL) Amr Moussa, the Arab water studies and water security center will be opened in Damascus on Saturday, November 3 at 7,00 p.m.
In a statement to SANA, the chairman of the center Ismat Fallouh said that the establishment of this center came according to the decision of the AL council no.5602 dated 15.9.1996 aiming at achieving Arab water security.
He added that among the aims of the center is to found a database on Arab homeland water information from an Arab water information Bank, collecting Arab and international agreements and documents and preparing studies and researches pertinent to Arab waters. He said that the center was equipped with needed requirements to start working.
