On Bin Laden and the American intelligence
Regional-USA, Politics, 11/2/2001

In its October 31 issue the French daily Le Figaro said that Osama Bin Laden stayed for ten days at the American hospital in Dubai on July 4 through 14 because of a Kidney disease, expecting that Bin Laden then met with one of the CIA officials, according to an eye-witness in the administration of the hospital.

The paper said that Bin Laden was provided with a portable device for kidney- washing and that Bin laden had also made several work visits to Dubai on 1996- 1998 and that during his stay in the hospital he met with the local representative for the CIA and the latter was summoned to Washington on July 15th.

The paper quoted Arab diplomatic sources and French intelligence saying that the American intelligence were informed very critical information on terrorist attacks targeting the American interests in the world, noting that Jamal Baghal, the French of Algerian origin who was arrested in Dubai by the end of July and was interrogated by the French intelligence admitted that the mission charged to him by al-Qaeyda organization was to bombard the American embassy in Paris.

The paper said that Bin Laden's contacts with the CIA go back to 1979 when he ( Bin Laden) was the representative of the al-Aeyla ( family) company in Istanbul and that after this meeting he started to recruit volunteers from the Arab world in order to resist the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

Meantime, The American university in Dubai on Wednesday refused officially what was stated by French mass media that it had received Osama Bin Laden in July this year and gave him medical treatment, AFP reported.
