Moroccan, Egyptian Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Talks
Morocco-Egypt, Politics, 11/1/2001
Moroccan and Egyptian foreign ministers, Mohamed Benaissa and Ahmed Maher, held on Wednesday phone talks. Maher told the press talks covered items on the agenda of the Arab follow-up committee meeting, scheduled for next Saturday in Damascus and latest developments in the region. Maher also held similar talks on the phone with Jordanian peer, Abdelilah Al Khatib.
The follow up committee was set up by an Arab summit held early this year to secure implementation of the Arab summit recommendations -mainly those related to the Arab-Israeli conflict, the Palestinian cause and the support to the Palestinian Intifadah. It comprises foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen.
