Qatar wins the UN economic and social seat

The state of Qatar has won one of the four seats dedicated to the Asian continent at the UN social and economic council.
Qatar has won the said seat during the elections which were held at the UN premises in New York after it received 142 votes out of 176 votes in the first round of voting.
Qatar's permanent delegation at the UN led by Qatar's permanent representative at the UN Naser Bin Abdul Aziz al-Naser exerted intensive efforts to raise the international co-operation to attaining this victory.
Worthy mentioning that elections of the UN social and economic council are considered the second important elections at the UN following the election of the non permanent members at the UN Security Council.
