Aziz expects Iraq to be bombarded by US, Britain

The Iraqi deputy prime minister Tareq Aziz said in an interview with the British daily " Sunday Times" issued on Sunday that he expects Iraq to be bombarded by the US and Britain.

He added that Iraq knows that there are western plans to attack 300 goals in Iraq through firing 1000 missiles. He accused Washington and London of trying to topple the government of Saddam Hussein under the pretext of fighting terrorism.

The Iraqi official expects the Arabs not to carry out any revenge act if Iraq will be exposed to an attack. He denied the American accusations on spreading the virus of anthrax and considered these accusations as " silly and groundless."

He explained that his country had developed the anthrax program in the 1980s but this program was destroyed in the 1990s during the UN weapons inspection operations.

Aziz, doubts confirmations made by the British prime minister Tony Blair on that Britain has not the desire to take part in any attack unless there are enough evidences on Iraq's involvement in the attacks of September 11.

Aziz stressed that the Iraqi armed forces are in a good situation that enabling it to defend Iraq.
