Al-Mulla Omar and Osama Bin Laden
Regional-Afghanistan, Politics, 10/29/2001

Al-Mulla Muhammad Omar has called on the US to provide evidences that prove the involvement of Osama Bin Laden in the attacks of September 11.

In an interview issued on Sunday by the Algerian daily al-Youm, al-Mulla Omar said if it was proved that Bin Laden was involved " we are ready to try him inside Afghanistan or in three Arab states in the presence of observers from the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Western states.

Al-Mulla Omar considered that the actual battle in Afghanistan has not started yet and vowed to give the American forces a lesson more bitter than given previously to the Soviet troops.

He said " we have not started the real war against the US because of the US technological superiority, but we will not welcome them by flowers." Al-Mulla Omar denied the killing or wounding members of his family or leaders in Taliban during the American strikes. He told the paper that the American bombardment targeted his house but did not damage any of his family members.
