UN Security Council calls for the withdrawal of the Israeli forces

The UN Security Council on Friday at dawn unanimously called on Israel to maintain immediate withdrawal from the Palestinian cities governed by the Palestinian self- rule in the West Bank which was broken by the Israeli tanks and their forces during the two past weeks.

News reports said that members of the council stressed in a statement their deep concern over the escalation of violence and expressed their regret over the great human losses.

The statement explained that members of the council call for an immediate withdrawal of the Israeli forces from cities and Palestinian areas fall under the supervision of the Palestinian Authority.

The British ambassador Jermy Greenstock said that members of the council wanted to act promptly and that the council will hold another session next Monday to decide whether there is a need to take another decision in case Israel does not pullout its forces.

On the other hand an Israeli official told FP that the Israeli withdrawal from these Palestinian areas might be during the two coming days, at stages, if the Palestinian authority will abide by implementing the set Israeli conditions.
