Pharaonic, Roman tombs unearthed in Beheira

Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) mission in Kom Mazian, Al-Beheira governorate unearthed scores of tombs that date back to the pharaonic and Roman eras, said SCA Secretary General Gaballah Ali Gaballah, adding the discovered tombs are three meters deep beneath the earth surface.
"The way of burying the dead in the tombs differs according to the period each to which tomb dates back," he said.
Gaballah noted that the burials date back to the period between the 7th century B.C. and the Roman era. Sabri Shukri, Al- Beheira Antiquities Director, said some funerary belongings, amulet, statuettes and copper vessels.
