Egypt backs establishing world organization for women

The UN committee concerned with social, humanitarian issues pursued discussions on women's promotion.

Ambassador Ahmad Abul Gheit , the Egypt's permanent delegate at the UN declared that the State pays due attention to the this item , which underlined its full commitment to supporting all efforts exerted in the domain of women promotion .

He stressed that promoting women is one of the pillars of social development.

Thus it was essential to activate women's potentials as one of the axioms of national strategies.

Over the past years , we could easily mark the continuous progress of women rights on the legislative and executive levels.

In the private session of the UN general assembly, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak made a proposal of setting a fund or a world organization to take over the strategies of women promotion, reinforce international cooperation and mobilize resources and efforts in all concerned bodies of effecting women's role in society.
