Kuwait to provide 750 homes for Indonesian refugees

The Kuwaiti government is reportedly planning to provide financial aid for the building of 750 houses for refugees in Poso district, Central Sulawesi province in Indonesia, reports the Indonesian news agency (ANTARA) quoting Religious Affairs Minister Said Agil Husin Almunawar.
The official said Kuwait has expressed readiness to assist the refugees who were riot victims and the funds had already been made available.
The houses for the refugees will be built in several areas and with each to have 50 units and a mosque, the Minister said after attending a get-together with the Alkhairat, an Islamic Education foundation.
According to him, the Central Sulawesi administration will be responsible for the building of the houses.
In addition to Kuwait, other Arab countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iraq and Tunisia also expressed their intention to provide scholarships for Indonesian students for study in these countries.
