National council for women, pillar of development in society

"Egypt is lending a special importance to upgrading women," said ambassador Ahmed Abul-Gheit, Egypt's Permanent Delegate to the United Nations (UN).
During the meetings of the UN General Assembly Committee for Social, Humanitarian and Human rights issues, which focused on the theme of upgrading women, said that Egypt is committed to enhance the potentials of women and empower them to actively participate in all walks of life.
The discussions offer a good chance to review efforts exerted to maintain women's rights, said Abul-Gheit, adding the Egyptian delegation emphasized women upgrading as one of the pillars to develop the society.
