Al-Hariri confers with Moratinos
Lebanon-European Union, Politics, 10/22/2001

The Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri on Sunday in Beirut received the UN ME special envoy Miguel Moratinos and reviewed with him the situation in the Middle east and the general International condition.

Following the meeting, Moratinos said that discussions dealt with the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories which was very difficult on Saturday evening and the exchanged efforts and thoughts on ways of halting the deteriorated conditions in the Palestinian territories and means of preventing total collapse for the peace process.

Moratinos hoped through his visit to several countries of the region that the higher representative of the European Union Javier Solana will be able to put an end to events in the occupied territories, the pullout of the Israeli forces from the Palestinian territories and return back to negotiations on all tracks.
