Moussa discusses in Washington discusses terrorism, the Palestinian question

The secretary general of the Arab League (AL) Amr Moussa will pay a visit to the US on Saturday that lasts for seven days during which he will hold intensive discussions with high ranking officials at the US administration and with the secretary general of the UN Kofi Annan.

By the beginning of this visit, Moussa will be meeting with the US President George W Bush and his foreign minister Colin Powel to discuss latest regional and international developments especially international efforts to fighting terrorism and work to crystallize the American position in support of the foundation of a Palestinian state through tangible practical steps.

The AL secretary general will also be meeting in New York with the UN secretary general Kofi Annan regional and international issues of mutual concern and co-ordination between the UN and the AL to invest the international co-operation in supporting Arab causes and in serving the American- British inclination for the establishment of the Palestinian state. Moussa will also discuss with Annan mobilizing international efforts to fighting terrorism and to make a distinction between terrorism and the right of peoples to resisting occupation.

Moussa will also meet with several American Congressmen and will also meet with heads of Arab and Muslim communities in the USA in order to be acquainted with their conditions and problems, closely in light of the emerging conditions they live in following the incidents of September 11 and means of dealing with the consequences of the attacks.
