Mubarak addresses a message to the US people, Administration & Congressmen

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has addressed a message to the US people, administration officials and congressmen in which he said that Egypt's proposal for holding, an international conference under the United Nations umbrella for drawing up an international charter for interdicting terrorism all over the world should be given a new momentum in parallel with taking practical measures for combating terrorism and eliminating the hidden reasons of behind this problem.
Mubarak said that Egypt supports the US people and the US Administration and the whole world in combating terrorism.
"We both realize that our long term interests in the framework of regional peace and stability will be better served through exerting more efforts for enhancing those relations," Mubarak said.
The President said in his message that Egypt cherishes principles of ethics and friendship with the US people, adding Egypt and the United States have laid down the pillars of economic and strategic cooperation on the basis of those ethics.
The President addressed his message through the Egyptian delegation to the economic forum, now on a visit to the United States, which has so far met with US Vice-President Dick Cheney, Senior U.S. Administration officials and Congress leadership.
The delegation asserted that Egypt will continue to focus on ways of developing and reactivating trade and investment between Egypt and the United States and opening the Egyptian markets.
President Mubarak's message contained condolences of the Egyptian people to the US people for the victims of incidents that harmed the United States on September 11.
The President said those attacks were not only targeting the United States but rather the whole civilized world adding those attacks were contradictory to all religions, humanitarian values and beliefs. He said terrorism is merciless to the innocents all over the world.
The President said the Egyptian people have suffered much .
The President said that the Egyptian international economic forum which is currently held in the United States will continue to play an important role in representing the Egyptian civil community through focusing on relations between Egypt and United States in the framework of the world economy and holding economic dialogues for enhancing economic cooperation.
Shafiq Gabr, the Chairman of the Forum and the Head of the Egyptian Delegation said the message he is conveying from President Mubarak to the US Administration officials and the congress asserts that civil society in Egypt and businessmen support President Mubarak's stance towards the September 11 incidents.
