Common currency for the Gulf states by 2010
Bahrain's minister of finance Abdullah Hassan Seif has announced that the finance ministers at the six states of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) decided last Saturday to unify their country's currencies by the end of 2010 and set an earlier date for the common custom tariff from the year 2005 to the end of 2003.

Austria's President Dr. Thomas Klistel on Monday at his residence in al-Riyadh met with the Saudi foreign minister prince Saudi al-Faisal. The Saudi news agency said that during the meeting the two sides discussed several issues of mutual concern between the two countries. The Austrian President who arrived on Sunday in al-Riyadh held immediately upon his arrival a meeting with the Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and two successive meetings with the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.
