Morocco, Spain call for activating financial cooperation agreement
Morocco-Spain, Economics, 10/16/2001
Morocco and Spain stressed here on Monday the need to activate a bilateral agreement on financial cooperation, signed during the visit to Spain of King Mohammed VI last year.
The call was made by Morocco's minister of economy, finance, privatization and tourism, Fathallah Oualalou, and Spanish trade and tourism secretary, Juan Costa, during a forum on investments and cooperation between Moroccan and Spanish businessmen, held in the northern city of Tangiers.
The two officials also insisted on the need to redefine economic cooperation in a manner that serves better the two countries' interests.
At a press briefing at the end of the forum, the two officials called on business operators to explore new partnership areas.
The Moroccan official, who insisted on the need to resort to dialogue to settle bilateral divergences, noted when touching on the issue of fisheries that this is a Moroccan-European issue.
