Princess Lalla Hasna hands 2001 clean beaches trophies

Princess Lalla Hasna, chairwoman of the Mohammed VI foundation for Environment Protection, chaired on Monday the 2001 prize awarding ceremony for clean beaches.

Banque Populaire received the trophy for efforts, the best entertainment trophy went to electricity utility (Office National d'Electricite), and the cleanliness and prevention trophy was awarded to Holmer-com company.

The foundation also granted citizen-enterprises trophies to several firms: Moroccan air carrier (RAM), the phosphates corporation (OCP), Ports office (ODEP), drinking water utility (ONEP), Afriquia petroleum company, BMCE banks, Telecom company (Maroc-Telecom), Morocco's largest private holding (ONA) and oil-refining company (SAMIR).

Acting chairman of the foundation, Lahoucine Tijani, stressed that while the success of the clean beaches operation is a motive of pride, more efforts are needed to promote awareness among actors involved in environment protection and to mobilize all efforts to materialize environment preservation programs.
