Some 677 Palestinians are the victims of the first year of the al-Aqsa Intifada

An official statistics prepared by the general commission for information on the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people said that the number of Palestinians who were killed during the first year of al-Aqsa Intifada reached 677 including 179 children under 18 year old and those who were assassinated were 67 while number of wounded Palestinian reached 20539.

The statistics stressed that the number of trees uprooted by the Israelis was 294662 and total area of leveled lands 34948 dunnums of which 13576 dunnums in Gaza and that number of schools closed by the Israelis was 147 schools and faculties and 36 factories or industrial firms were totally destroyed, while number of Palestinians who became unemployed reached 297,999 and that three journalists were killed by the Israelis and 191 wounded as the Israeli forces opened fire at them while covering events of the Intifada.
