Mayor of New York refuses Saudi prince donation
Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 10/13/2001

The renowned Saudi businessman Prince al-Walid Bin Talal has renewed his assertion that the cause of Palestine should be the focal point of greater interest in order to find out a just solution for it according to UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338.

This was expressed after the Mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani refused on Thursday a donation of USD 10 million offered by the prince for the fund of the victims of the World Trade Center's two towers because of the statements the prince had made.

A statement released by prince Talal said that Giuliani gave up accepting the donation two hours after he thanked prince al-Walid before the press and officials because prince al-Walid called on the US to make a balance in her foreign policy towards the Palestinians and to study the motives and the reasons behind the incidents of September 11 in the US.
