Five Yemenis were killed in racist crimes in Northern America

The secretary of the expatriates ministry in Yemen Ibrahim Abdul Rasheed has stressed that five Yemenis were killed in the US and Canada in acts of revenge against the Muslims following the attacks of September 11 against the US.

He added that:" Number of Yemeni expatriates who were killed in the USA in racist incidents following the terrorist attacks reached four according to latest information arrived in the ministry in addition to one Yemeni expatriate killed in Canada. "

He explained that the Yemeni expatriates who were killed in the US are Abd Ali Ahmad al-Runei' and Ali Muhammad al-Mansour in California; Hammoud Qayed al-Shayef in Virginia besides Abdul Rahman al-Zeifani and the Yemeni student Tareq Farouk Luqman ( 19 year old) in Canada."

He continued that:" many of those who committed the killing were arrested and brought before the court," noting "there are lawyers appointed by the ministry and the Yemeni community in the US following issues relating to Yemeni expatriates. "
