Continued bombardment at Kabul, Qindhar
Regional-Afghanistan, Politics, 10/11/2001
After the announcement made by Washington that it could control the Afghani airspace, air raids were escalated on Wednesday against Kabul and Qindhar, at a time when Taliban's ambassador in Islma Abaas stressed that 70 civilians were killed in the earlier bombardment and other 100 wounded,. The Taliban's ambassador also denied the American assertions of defeating all Afghani anti- aircraft means.
Detailed news reports said that American warplanes carried out violent raids on Wednesday evening at the downtown of the Afghani capital Kabul during which at least 13 shells were dropped.
The strong explosions shook the city, when other planes bombarded the downtown of Kabul for the fourth time, very violently.
Eye-witnesses said that warplanes flew in the airspace of Kabul on three shifts and dropped 13 bombs at targets in the north of the city or near the airport.
The eye-witnesses added that Taliban's anti- aircraft means opened fire at the raiding planes but with lesser intensity which means that some of these defense batteries were destroyed during previous American raids.
