British prime minister hold talks with Oman's Sultan

The talks held between Sultan Qabous Bin Saeed of Oman with the British prime minister Tony Blair on Wednesday in Muscat dealt with the attacks led by the US against Afghanistan.
News reports quoted an Omani officials as saying that these talks also dealt with the situation in the occupied Arab territories and Iraq as well as bilateral relations between the two countries.
Earlier in the day, the British prime minister Tony Blair arrived in Muscat in a visit to Oman which lasts for two days in which he will inspect the British forces which are currently taking part in the British- Omani military maneuvers.
A spokesman for the British embassy in Muscat said that Blair will also hold during this visit talks with Sultan Qabous.
On Tuesday, the Omani news agency said that Blair's visit to Oman will be an opportunity for exchanging view points and consultation between the two countries on recent developments at the international level.
Worthy mentioning that more than 23,000 British troopers are currently taking part in the military exercises of the ( al-Seif al-Saree 2) " The Rapid Sword, 2" which were described by London as constituting the largest deployment for the British forces since the mid of the 1980 s.
The main phase of the exercises which were decided before the attacks against the US on September 11 will be held on October 10 through 26.
It is presumed that 114 warplanes, including 40 for the Omani airforces, and 36 warship of which 11 for the Omani naval forces and hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles to take part in these exercises.
