Ghali: Lebanon is a secure state
Lebanon-Regional, Politics, 10/10/2001

The secretary general of the Franchophonic states organization Butrous Ghali said that the organization's 9th summit was postponed until October 2002 and Beirut will be the venue for convening it, stressing that Lebanon is a very secure country.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in the Lebanese daily al-Safir, Ghali indicated that the postponement is because many of heads of the Franchophonic states and governments find it difficult to travel and there is no other reason for the postponement. He added that his term of office as a secretary general for the Franchophonic organization was renewed for one full year on the ground that the summit is postponed for one year as from now.

Ghali stressed the need of making a distinction between terrorism, resistance and liberation movements.
