US asks Sudan to interrogate former intelligence officials
Sudan-USA, Politics, 10/10/2001

The French TTA news bulletin which is concerned with strategic news said that the American FBI asked the Sudanese authorities to listen to investigations of several Sudanese officials especially Nafe' Ali Nafe' and Qasbi al-Mahdi on Bin Laden's networking.

The Bulletin added that the Sudanese government finds it difficult to respond to the American request because the two men assumed the chairmanship of the Sudanese security department successively during the period from 1989 through 1999.

The French bulletin indicated that the Sudanese foreign minister's visit to London and his meeting with the American ambassador and several officials responsible for fighting terrorism seemed to have discussed this American request.
