Moroccan-Angolan talks on parliamentary cooperation

Speaker of Angola's national assembly, Roberto De Almeida, who started on Monday a two-day official visit to Morocco held a series of meetings with speakers of the two parliamentary chambers and with the prime minister.
The Angolan official, who is leading a parliamentary delegation, surveyed with speaker of the chamber of advisors (upper chamber), Mustapha Oukacha bilateral relations and the role of the two countries in Africa. The two men also underscored the privileged political relations between the two countries, which share the same ambition to construct African unity.
The Moroccan official stressed the need to consolidate cooperation between the two legislative branches, which can encourage their respective governments to make more efforts to upgrade economic and trade ties.
Talks with speaker of the house of representatives, Abdelwahed Radi, were an opportunity to renew resolve to consolidate consultation and diversify economic cooperation between the two African countries.
After the Angolan official surveyed the situation in his country, following the Lusaka peace agreement and ongoing efforts to restore peace and hold general elections, Radi said Africa ought to set forth an efficient development, cooperation and peace policy in order to help all African countries overcome problems such as drought, epidemics, hunger and wars.
De Almeida also met prime minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi over means to upgrade bilateral relations and the situation in Africa.
