The Morocco-European Union association council holds its second session Tuesday in Luxembourg to consolidate further the content of the Morocco-EU partnership.
The Moroccan delegation will be led by secretary of state for foreign affairs and cooperation, Taieb Fassi Fihri.
The meeting-- that falls in the frame of the Morocco-EU association accord signed in 1996 and enforced in March 2000-will probe progress made in the implementation of the economic, social and cultural provisions of the association accord.
The meeting will also provide opportunity to hold a deep political dialogue on the whole set of topical regional and international issues, a statement by the foreign affairs and cooperation department said.
A special emphasis will be laid on issues of concern to Morocco such as immigration and the situation of the Moroccan community settled in Europe.
The Morocco-European Union association council, a consultative body set up by the association accord, held its first session in October 2000 in Luxembourg.
The Morocco-EU association accord provides for the progressive establishment of a free trade area between Morocco and the Union by 2012 and covers political, economic, financial, social and cultural partnership between the two sides.
