The US, Britain start attacks against Afghanistan

The US has started its attack on Afghanistan at 5 GMT with the main participation of the British troops and the forces of the opposition Afghan's north opposition.

The military operations which surprised the citizens of Kabul and other cities and frightened them, started by an intensive air bombardment carried out by US jets B1 and B52 and then TomaHock missiles launched from carriers positioned in the Indian Ocean. The British submarines also participated in the missile bombardment.

News reports and TV networks said that the tactic of the attack which is carried out on two shifts is concentrated on two main axes. The first to bombard cities of Kabul, Jalal Abaad and Qindahar with concentration on targets set in these cites by missiles and jet fighters.

The second axis by unloading via air humanitarian aids over main population aggregations in Afghanistan.

The first results of the American attacks were the killing of 20 Afghani people, while the CNN said that the headquarters of the Taliban movement in Qindhar was destroyed and positions for the movement near Kabul and part of the airport, cutting electricity supplies from the capital and destroying three camps for Taliban in Jalaal Abaad.

The American bombardment also targeted Mazar al-Sharif airport to the north of Afghanistan as well as the house of Mulla Muhammad Omar, the leader of the Taliban movement who appeared on the TV screen to announced " the Jihad" against the US, calling on the people of Afghanistan to fight until death describing the American attack as " organized terrorism."

After the American- British attack, Osama Bin Laden vowed that the " US will not enjoy security before Palestinians will enjoy it," noting in a statement though al-Jazira TV of Qatar on Sunday evening the readiness of his forces to confront and fight against the US in any place.

Bin Laden's vow was made before the statement in which the US President announced the beginning of war against the Taliban.

With the beginning of the American attack against Afghanistan the state of alert was declared in several world countries including Pakistan and other neighbors for Afghanistan. Washington warned its citizens in all parts of the world to be cautious and careful.
