Judgement on Bin Laden's involvement up to international community
Egypt-USA, Politics, 10/6/2001
Presidential political advisor Osama Al-Baz voiced belief on possible involvement of Al-Qaeda organisation led by Saudi defector Osama Bin Laden in the September 11 bombings in the United States.
In an interview with Monte Carlo Radio Friday morning, Baz said that Egypt was briefed during U.S. Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld's visit to Cairo on some of the evidences reached by U.S. investigations on Bin Laden's involvement, but not all of them.
Some countries might have got acquainted with more evidence and documents like Pakistan and Britain, bearing in mind their special relations with the United States, said Baz.
The way the Americans spoke to us and the information they allowed us are to indicate that there is at least some proof on Qaeda's role in the incidents, he added.
He pointed out that the judgement on Bin Laden's involvement in the incidents is after all up to the international community to decide.
