Mubarak: Calm can be restored by a just solution

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt has stressed the need to implement the international legitimacy resolutions especially UN resolutions 242 and 338 providing for Israel's withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories in Jerusalem, the Golan and the occupied Palestinian territories until June 4, 1967 border lines and implementing the land for peace principle so as to establish a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region.

In a speech he delivered on Thursday in Cairo on the occasion of the victories of the October war of 1973 ( jointly launched by the Syrian and Egyptian troops against the Israeli forces) the Egyptian President noted that there is no way to attain calm in the Middle East without maintaining a just solution for the Palestinian question in line with international legitimacy resolution.

He added that the US should change its position towards the Palestinian question so as to shoulder its own responsibility as a main sponsor for the Middle East peace process, through working to pressure Israel to abide by the international legitimacy resolution and the will of the international community to pull out from all occupied Arab territories until June 4, 1967 border lines, stressed that the feeling of being repressed is conducive to explosion.
