German official in Morocco Sunday
Morocco-Germany, Environment, 10/4/2001

Environment minister of North Rhineland-Westphalia, Ms Barbel Hohn, is expected in Morocco Sunday on a three-day visit to Morocco.

The visit will highlight by the signing of an accord under which Rhineland will contribute to a feasibility study on a national center for the treatment of dangerous industrial and hospital wastes, to be located in the region of Casablanca.

Ms Hohn will dedicate on Monday the second Moroccan-German environment show "Enviro-Maroc 2001" and is scheduled to meet members of the Moroccan employers' association, la Confederation G?n?rale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), and local officials.

Germany extended Morocco nearly 1.0 billion Dirhams (about US$ 90.90 million) in 2000-2001. The amounts were destined to finance social-economic projects, mainly in the sectors of water supply, sanitation, environment protection, struggle against poverty and upgrading of Moroccan enterprises' competitiveness.

Morocco is among the 50 privileged partners of Germany.
