Morocco supports international conference on air safety

Morocco supported Tuesday at the 33rd session of the assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization supports the holding of an international conference on air safety as the best approach to set in motion courageous and concrete measures to shield terrorism against any act of terrorism.
Morocco's ambassador to Canada, Abdelkader Lachhab, told delegates of 164 countries Morocco reiterates its support to all efforts to adopt adequate measures to guarantee the security and safety of civil aviation, after the tragic events of last September 11.
He also recalled that King Mohammed VI had promptly denounced the inhumane acts and stressed to need to oppose all forms of terrorism, whatever its origins are.
The assembly was asked to look into a draft resolution for an emergency meeting of a to level world conference on aviation safety.
The diplomat also renewed Morocco's readiness to cooperate with the international community in implementing all measures likely to ensure the civil aviation safety and security and overcome the present crisis.
Over 990 participants, representing 164 member states out of a total of 187 and 32 observer bodies are taking part in the session held from September 25 through October 5.
