Iraq-Israel, Politics, 10/3/2001
Iraq on Tuesday warned against the possibility of Israel's launching a comprehensive " aggression" targeting Syria and Lebanon and " perhaps Iraq" with its aim to implement the projects the " alternative homeland for the Palestinians of the occupied Territories."
Iraq also accused the American navy of attacking it and called on the UN to put an end to its operations in the Gulf area.
The Iraqi daily al-Thawra ( the revolution) issued on Tuesday quoted the Iraqi deputy prime minister Tareq Aziz as saying on the occasion of the of the first anniversary of launching the Palestinian Intifada that Israel will find itself obliged to carry out a vast military operation in the framework of an aggression to which Israel will invest and find out the necessary justification through which it will carry out the alternative homeland for the Palestinians ( to find another homeland for the Palestinian in one of the Arab states and thereby keeping the Palestinian territories under its control).
Aziz considered that the target of this aggression will be first Syria and Lebanon and later might be Iraq.
