President al-Assad reviews with Fischer regional, international developments

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday at the Damascus al-Shaab palace received the German foreign minister Yushka Fischer. The meeting was attended by the foreign minister Farouk al-Shara and the German ambassador in Damascus.

The two sides reviewed conditions and their developments on the regional and international arenas following the recent attacks on the US and bilateral relations between Syria and Germany and the importance of developing them.

The President underlined the importance of the role played by Europe especially at the present time.

View points were identical on the need of maintaining stability in the region through finding out a just and comprehensive solutions to the Middle East question.
