More detention acts in Jordan

The Jordanian weekly al-Majd said that there is a vast campaign of arrest that is carried out by the Jordanian authorities in various provinces and targeting tens of persons who are known for their " extremist and predestination affiliation." This campaign were made on the ground of the explosions took place in New York and Washington and the role played by Jordan in the alliance led by Washington to fighting terrorism.

The paper, expected, quoting well-informed Jordanian sources, issued on Monday that the expected campaign of arrest will include all Islamists who visited Afghanistan and fought along with the Afghani " Mujahideen" during their conflict with the Soviets or those who are suspected to have links with al-Qaeyda ( the base) organization led by Usama Bin Laden.

The paper indicated that the detention acts carried out by the Jordanian authorities in al-Baqaa camp on Sunday against the demonstration held to celebrate the first anniversary of the Palestinian al-Aqsa Intifada fall in the context of this campaign.
