Kharazi: We are against any military action against Arab, Islamic countries
Egypt-Iran, Politics, 10/1/2001
Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi has denied reports carried by the CNN that Iran has joined international coalition for uprooting terrorism.
Kharazi said that we are convinced of international cooperation under the UN umbrella "if we believe that the United States is not neutral regarding Middle East issues because of its support for Israel, how can it lead media campaign for combating terrorism?" he added.
Kharazi said that his talks with President Mubarak were frank and clear-cut, stressing identity of views on the need for adopting no double standard policies in the face of terrorism.
Answering a question on what Iran would do if any Arab country was exposed to aggression in spite of disparity of views between Iran and Arab countries on coalition, Kharazi said,"We are against any military action against Arab or Islamic country"
He called on the United States to submit evidences it has against the states or individuals who were behind the latest incidents. He said military strength has never solved any problem .
He said views are identical between Egypt, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
