Sudan denies to have handed lists and persons to Washington
Sudan-USA, Politics, 9/26/2001
The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has strongly denies news that Sudan had handed the American government lists and persons at the request of Washington following the recent explosions on September 11.
In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Monday in Khartoum, Ismael added that the Sudanese government has not handed any Sudanese lists nor persons or non Sudanese to the American authorities because simply the US had not asked for that.
Ismael also denied that Sudan has offered the US military bases. He noted " so far there is no sort of military cooperation between Khartoum and Washington," noting that the US administration just one week before the attacks took place had a positive report on Sudan's position concerning terrorism from its security team which is in the country ( Sudan) since more than one year.
Ismael explained that the Sudanese government has permitted the American and disclosed to them all papers because it was convinced that all information they had was deceiving and baseless and this is what the American found out later.
