Moroccan government warrants carrier RAM
Morocco, Business, 9/25/2001
The Moroccan government decided to warrant the national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) so that it continues its operations and flights throughout the world.
A statement by the ministry of transport and merchant navy released on Monday said the Moroccan government decided, like the United States and the member countries of the European Union, to warrant the national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) so that it continues its operations and flights throughout the world, in the same conditions as international air carriers.
The statement said in view of the crisis affecting the sector of air transport, that is strategic for Morocco's economy and tourism, the government remains mobilized to back the national carrier, which on its part, set up a crisis committee that will make all the internal necessary measures required.
Since the tragic events in the United States, the sector of air transport is going through serious difficulties, in view of a drop of activities and hike in insurance costs, the statement said.
