Egypt for registering 15 monumental sites on world heritage

Egypt submitted a list comprising 15 monumental sites to the world Antiquities Centre affiliated to UNESCO to include these sites in the world heritage list, said Gaballah Ali Gaballah, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities during the inauguration of the first Regional Conference on Nature and Oases held at the city of Al-Kharga.
Gaballah pointed out that among the nominated sites for registration are the city of Alexandria, Saint Catherine, Luxor city and Tal Al-Amarnah in Menya.
He moreover said that Egypt has only 5 monumental sites registered on the world heritage list which includes 600 sites worldwide.
