Ebeid opens Travel Mediterranean Fair
Egypt, Economics, 9/25/2001

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid opened on Monday the second Mediterranean Travel Fair at the Cairo International Conference Centre (CICC).

The fair is organized by the Tourism Ministry in cooperation with an organizing company of international exhibitions.

The fair is considered the first Egyptian bourse for tourism where both buyers and sellers meet to market the most important tourist destinations and conclude deals for the coming tourist seasons.

The participating countries in the fair are Cyprus, Dubai, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Bahrain, Syria, Slovakia, Turkey, Kuwait, India, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Spain, England and Egypt.

In statements following inauguration of the fair, Ebeid underscored the booming world tourist influx into Egypt, a matter emphasized by the intensive participation in the first Tourist Forum after the recent incidents witnessed in the world.

"This participation has significance, most important of which is the world's confidence in Egypt's atmosphere of security and stability," said Ebeid.

Ebeid was accompanied by Tourism Minister Mamdouh Al Beltagui, and a number of ministers as well as ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries in Egypt.
