Sudanese facilitation to the US to fighting terrorism
Sudan-USA, Politics, 9/25/2001
The London- based al-Hayat daily said on Monday that Khartoum has offered the US bases that are used as airports in the Sudanese territories and also provided the CIA with information about Usama Bin Laden.
The paper added quoting a US official as saying that Sudan has become very cooperative with the US in its war against terrorism and also approved to offer the US bases that are used as airports in the Sudanese territories and opening the airspace before the American military aviation.
The daily added that the information about Bin Laden relate to his previous economic activities in Sudan.
On Sunday, the Sudanese authorities prevented a religious group naming itself " the Islamic liberation party" ( Hizb al-Tahrir al-Islami) from convening a press conference. This group warmed against giving the US facilities in its war against Muslims in Afghanistan.
