Austria stresses interest in Mubarak's anti-terrorism calls
Egypt-Austria, Politics, 9/24/2001

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak receives on Wednesday Austrian Foreign Minister Benito Maria Ferrero-Waldner, who will arrive to Cairo on Wednesday in the first leg of an Arab tour that will take him to Syria, Jordan and Egypt.

Austrian ambassador in Cairo Ferdinand Trauttmansdorff said Waldner would have talks with Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher, Awkaf religious (Endowments) Minister Hamdi Zaqzouq and Grand Imam of AL- Azhar Sheikh Mohamed Sayed Tantawi.

Waldner will meet on a luncheon with Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa.

Trauttmansdorff said the Austrian Foreign Minister's talks with officials in Egypt would tackle bilateral relations and the international status quo.

"Austria attaches great importance to President Mubarak' calls to hold an international anti-terrorism conference," said the Ambassador, adding coordination between the two countries confronting terrorism will be on the talks agenda.
