Al-Assad discusses with Hariri regional developments, meets with Lebanese coalition
Syria-Lebanon, Politics, 9/24/2001

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday at the Damascus al-Rawda palace received the Lebanese prime minister rafik al-Hariri.

Discussions dealt with latest developments in the region and its reflections on the two states and the need of maintaining an Arab coordination and consultation under the current prevailing conditions as well as issues of concern to Syria and Lebanon.

In the afternoon, the President also received at al-Rawda palace the delegation representing the coalition of the people's leagues and committees in Lebanon. This coalition includes Beshara Murhij, Maen Bashour, Habib Zgheib; Hussein Othman, Khalil barakat, Faisal Tarniqa, Hani Suleiman and Raji Hakim.

Relations between Syria and Lebanon were reviewed during the meeting.
