Arafat to visit Damascus on Tuesday

Palestine's representative in Jordan Omar al-Khatib has stressed that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat will visit Damascus tomorrow ( Tuesday) via Amman and will be meeting with President Bashar al-Assad.
In a press statement he made in Amman on Sunday, al-Khatib added that high Palestinian officials will accompany Arafat in this visit.
Al-Khatib explained that this visit was originally set for September 15 but Israel's closure of the crossing following the attacks on the US led to postponing this visit.
