Ruler of Kuwait heads to Britain for medical treatment

The Kuwaiti TV said on Friday evening that the ruler of Kuwait had left the country to Britain for medical treatment.

However, the Kuwaiti health minister Muhammad al-Jarullah said on Friday afternoon that there is no fears about the health condition of Sheikh Jaber, noting the he left for Britain to complete medical tests and treatment.

The Kuwaiti minister explained that Sheikh Jaber ( 73 year old) suffers a brain stroke,.

During the absence of Sheikh Jaber the country will be ruled by the appointed crown prince since 1978 Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah al-Sabah ( 71 year old). Authority transfer in Kuwait is made according to alternative rule on the country between the two branches of al-Sabah and al-Salem to which affiliates the Kuwaiti crown prince and al- Jaber family to which belongs the current crown prince.
