The American campaign and tourism in Syria

The Lebanese daily al-Nahar said in its Friday's issue in a report from Damascus that news on the US campaign to fighting terrorism was negatively reflected on the tourism in Syria as number of western tourism groups arriving in the country receded at 70%.
Economic sources estimated tourism losses in Syria as exceeding USD 10 million.
Hotel sources explained that more than 80% of hotel booking in major hotels ( five star hotels) were canceled for the two current September and next October.
On the other hand, non- official tourism sources said that tourism in the opposite direction was also affected as several Syrian who desired to visit the USA cancelled their bookings.
