Vedrine to visit Israel and the Palestinian territories

The French foreign minister Hubert Vedrine starts a visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories tomorrow ( Sunday) and will last for three days.
The assistant spokesman for the French foreign ministry Bernard Valero said that this visit comes in the course of the continued European role in the region especially as Vedrine had stressed what was stated by the US secretary of state Colin Powell in that the catastrophe which hit the US on September 11 might help in searching for peace in the region.
